Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Silverline Birch Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for loads and lanes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We reward reliability. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with loads and lanes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
