Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Bright Cedar Facilities is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for safety inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety inspections, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with safety inspections.
