Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight Glen Facilities is a facilities company in Virginia Beach with crews on day and night shifts. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around cleaning schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
