Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Westbrook Umber Inspection Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for equipment calibration, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 68 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
