Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Greenridge Rowan Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for field inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with field inspections. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
