Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight Rook Press is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for press runs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Deadlines are tight and craftsmanship matters. What you will do • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to press runs, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
