Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Nova Yarrow Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for meter readings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 370 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Houston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
