Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Summit Basin Foods is a Honolulu food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ingredient orders. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
