Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Rivermark Cross Foods is a Virginia Beach food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 187 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with allergen controls. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
