Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Cedar Cross Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for sanitation schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer specifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with sanitation schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Kansas City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
