Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Ashton Foods Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to allergen controls, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with allergen controls. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Colorado Springs. • We reply to every applicant.
