Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight Loom Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Columbus. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 871 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer estimates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
