Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Redstone River Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Charleston. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Track costs around vehicle inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer estimates. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
