Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight West Farms is an agricultural business based around Little Rock. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around grower contracts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Little Rock. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
