Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight North Auto Group is a San Antonio company supplying vehicle parts and service, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to parts orders, and clear open items. • Track costs around vehicle inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with parts orders. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in San Antonio. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
