Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Clearpath Ridge Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Birmingham plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Track costs around production lines against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to machine downtime, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with machine downtime. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
