Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Foxglove Nest Financial is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for vendor spend, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor spend, and clear open items. • Track costs around regulatory reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
