Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Silverline Yarrow Foods makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in Virginia Beach, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
