Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight Clear Legal Group is a Nashville practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 97 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to intake forms, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with intake forms. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Nashville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
