Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Silverline Nest Housing provides affordable homes and support services around Orlando, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to maintenance stores, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around waiting lists against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with maintenance stores. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Orlando. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
