Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Bright Bridge Farms is an agricultural business based around Virginia Beach, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We are a family-run business at heart. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around harvest schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
