Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Maple Manufacturing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lines, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with production lines. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
