Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Foxglove Bright Construction is a San Diego contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
