Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Silverline Basin Inspection Services is an inspection company in Louisville with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with field inspections. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Louisville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
