Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight Banking Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for loan files, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Most people here started in a branch and stayed. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan files, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with loan files. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
