Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Harborlight Fox Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Denver. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tuition and subsidies, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around classroom supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with tuition and subsidies. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Denver. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
