Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Westbrook Birch Care Services Group is a social-care provider serving older adults and people with disabilities around San Antonio, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around client records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in San Antonio. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
