Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Cedar Timber Manufacturing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for production lines, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around scrap and rework against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production lines. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Savannah. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
