Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Ivory Freight and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 911 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proof of delivery, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with proof of delivery. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Louisville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
