Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Northwind Kestrel Markets is a Fort Worth retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with supplier deliveries. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Fort Worth. • We reply to every applicant.
