Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Nova Oak Foods Group produces packaged foods at its Chicago plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to allergen controls, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around sanitation schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with allergen controls. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
