Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Clearpath Lakeside Farms Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
