Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Cedar Bridge Farms supplies farm and food customers across the St. Louis region, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 96 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with seasonal crews. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in St. Louis. • We reply to every applicant.
