Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Nova Rowan Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in El Paso with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 17 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
