Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Rivermark Birch Care Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for licensing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. The work is personal and so is the culture. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with licensing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Cincinnati. • We reply to every applicant.
