Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Foxglove Rook Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around policy renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
