Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Greenridge Rook Construction is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for materials orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 43 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with materials orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Knoxville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
