Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Silverline Kestrel Manufacturing is a Baltimore manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 43 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around tooling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production lines. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
