Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Rivermark Fern Energy Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for outage response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 42 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage response, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with outage response. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Madison. • We reply to every applicant.
