Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Nova Drift Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Omaha. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 65 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with fraud alerts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Omaha. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
