Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Willow Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 86 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with catastrophe response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Dallas. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
