Accountant - audit preparation (Raleigh, NC)

Rivermark Union Inspection Services is an inspection company in Raleigh with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around equipment calibration against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with client sites. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
