Accountant - audit preparation (Providence, RI)

Foxglove Bright Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for attendance records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 197 people based in Providence. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with attendance records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
