Accountant - audit preparation (Portland, OR)

Fernwood Cobalt Pharma is a pharmaceutical company in Portland producing generic and specialty treatments. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around batch records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory filings. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
