Accountant - audit preparation (Portland, OR)

Redstone Keystone Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 42 people based in Portland. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around survey data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
