Accountant - audit preparation (Portland, OR)

Silverline Quill Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Portland. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
