Accountant - audit preparation (Portland, OR)

Summit Quarry Telecom Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for outage reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 43 people based in Portland. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with outage reports. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
