Accountant - audit preparation (Portland, OR)

Bright Quarry Energy Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for meter readings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Track costs around billing disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
