Accountant - audit preparation (Pittsburgh, PA)

Nova North Early Learning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for meal programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 277 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around licensing records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with meal programmes. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
