Accountant - audit preparation (Pittsburgh, PA)

Foxglove Lantern Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Pittsburgh. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Pittsburgh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
